Posting Guidelines

We hope the dialogue that take place on Assessments Here will be lively, constructive, informative, and yes, provocative. To make sure we all stay on-topic, posts may reviewed by our experts but will not be edited for clarity, length, and relevance.

We ask that you adhere to the following guidelines.

  1. Selling of products or services should only be listed in the Promotions Forum.
  2. Debate is encouraged – trashing a product or model or theory is not.  Criticize ideas, not the people behind them.
  3. If you want us to know about outside sources, please link to them. Don’t paste them in unless you have contributor status.

All postings (not attachments or sample reports) are considered in the public domain. (See copyright below.)

Copyright and Permissions

While individual documents loaded on the site or cross linked will usually have their own copyrights attached, in principle the information on the site is for your use only.  If it can be used commercially, it will be so stated or marked. You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author  (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work).

What platform and services am I using and why?

I chose WordPress with various plug-ins but specifically I use: Wishlist, Simple Scripts for the Forum, WP eStore and WP Affiliate.  Here were my criteria:

  • no reliance on outside services and changing winds
  • flexibility and expandability without significant costs
  • interactivity for input by everyone
  • protected parts of the site (primarily to respect privacy of members)
  • ease of use by me and members

I decided that I didn’t want the community to be under the “control” of a service that might change the rules or charge usage fees.  I don’t need “fans” or “friends”.  (Although I do confess that I have set up an AssessmentsHere Facebook page in case traffic does flow through.  And yes, there is a “like” button on the site.)
